About Us

FunDrum Rhythm Circles is dedicated to bringing the power of rhythm to different groups in order to empower them with the ability to create beautiful music, regardless of experience and training. At FunDrum, we believe that group drumming and music making has deeply powerful outcomes including a feeling of connectedness, kinesthetic physical exercise, spiritual connection and fun. Rhythm has been used for centuries in many traditional cultures to stimulate healing, facilitate joy and bring communities together. Recently there has been renewed interest in community drumming - a movement toward rhythmical empowerment has been started in our society by leaders like Babatunde Olatunji, Arthur Hull, Remo Belli and others. FunDrum Rhythm Circles is dedicated to continuing the mission of our teachers and spreading the rhythmaculture movement to communities in all walks of society.

A skilled facilitator leads a group of participants playing percussion instruments. FunDrum Rhythm Circles is critical for knowledge-based organizations that strive to develop effective team dynamism for corporate success. A FunDrum event is guaranteed to have a powerful and lasting impact on all participants.

How does a FunDrum event work?

FunDrum will provide facilitators and all the instruments needed for any event. A variety of drums and percussion instruments such as djembés, djun-djuns, frame drums, shakers, bells, boomwhackers are available. The facilitator will set up a space for the drum circle - this can be indoors/outdoors. Participants will then "enter" the drum circle with the instruments already laid out. Participants usually sit or stand in a circle playing the instruments - the FUN begins!

FunDrum is experienced at working with event planners to adapt this basic format to suit the needs of your organization. We are happy to develop flexible programs that incorporate your objectives into a meaningful FunDrum event.

A FunDrum event can be a stand-alone activity or incorporated in a variety of training programs. We develop programs for communication, leadership, teambuilding and experiential learning.
